Why Celebrations Matter

I am not the best when it comes to celebrating things. Sure I throw a mean party, particularly at work, but it always comes with a small amount of annoyance for me.

My sister is an A-lister when it comes to celebrations. She makes up things to celebrate with her children. They have theme nights and everyone gets dressed up. I generally participate begrudgingly. But you know what? When I am in the thick of it, I enjoy it. And I am starting to think in these tough times, celebrations - even made up - are vital in keeping us happy and well-balanced.

I read this article and what struck me is the joy that the author’s grandfather brought forth by remembering to celebrate the ordinary, especially with those with whom he was closest. I think we should all try to have more celebrations in our lives. So I ask you, what did you do to celebrate today both at work and at home?
